Joan Batlle participate in the IX National Congress of Municipal Engineering (CIM 2025)
On December 11, 2025, Batlleiroig’s partner and R&D Director, Joan Batlle Blay, took part as a speaker at the IX National Congress of Municipal Engineering (CIM 2025), the leading event for municipal engineering in Spain, organized by ITeC. The event was held at the CosmoCaixa Auditorium in Barcelona.
At a time when sustainability, urban regeneration, and the naturalization of cities are key challenges for contemporary urbanism, Joan Batlle’s presentation offered a unique opportunity to share Batlleiroig’s experience in ecological urban planning and green city design.
Joan Batlle took part in the Urban Planning session, with the talk: “Urban Regeneration and Landscape”. He addressed how urban and landscape regeneration can be used as a strategic tool to transform neighborhoods in degraded conditions, incorporating sustainable solutions, improving accessibility, and restoring the environmental and social value of urban areas. Citizen participation was also be a central aspect, ensuring interventions were adapted to local realities and respected the identity of each neighborhood.
Joan’s talk reflected Batlleiroig’s philosophy: merging city and nature, combining urban design, landscape architecture, and sustainability to create neighborhoods that are more resilient, livable, and ecological.
