Productivity

#

Our project for the Finestrelles sector was structured around a green area that extends the natural spaces close to the interior of the city in order to unite the Diagonal street in Barcelona with the Collserola Natural Park. At the centre of the planning, a large natural meadow was established with a mixture of seeds that included alfalfa, so it could be transformed into a very low production maintenance space. The image of a herd of sheep belonging to Cayetano, the last shepherd in Barcelona, is the perfect allegory for a city that has a good relationship with its surroundings. This is proof that we can perhaps find new models of coexistence between the city and nature.

Food governance

Value the productivity of the green infrastructure in our cities in order to ensure the conservation of their extension and quality, trying to build a New Green Economy that encourages the creation of new materials or new energies, the maintenance of the water cycle or the local food production to try to bring us closer to food governance. Preserve historical agricultural structures and promote the creation of new agricultural systems in all urban spaces between our cities.

Km 0

Design productive gardens in our public spaces that generate local food for citizens. Prioritising the use of local materials and solutions helps the project itself by reinforcing its identity, uniqueness, and its integration into the environment in addition to contributing to the local economy. The designs of Batlleiroig are found in the agricultural tradition of our culture to provide better public spaces.

Rooftop farm

Each rooftop and urban terrace is an opportunity to achieve a productive city. We can aim to recover the idea of a traditional country house and create productive buildings that generate a large part of what their users consume: from local food to required electricity; from the oxygen we breathe to the rainwater we can conserve.

Sustainable Mobility

Walking around the city. In many cases we find ourselves with impassable boundaries, genuine walls that prevent connectivity between different parts. The resolution of these outages has become the most strategic project we can develop.

Recycling

Regenerating the city and the land. If we rethink the future of the city by proposing systems that definitively reverse the current models of unlimited extensive consumption of the territory and polluting mobility based on the private vehicle, we discover two fields of action with many possibilities: to promote urban regeneration and boost the project of the boundaries between the existing urban materials and the green infrastructure that we want to preserve.
