Batlleiroig receives Honourable Mention at the AMAD Awards 2025 for Inspire
The Inspire office building is recognized at the AMAD Awards 2025 in an edition that consolidates the maturity of timber architecture in Spain
On May 20, 2026, the AMAD Awards 2025 ceremony was held at the Aula Magna of the Postgraduate Building of the University of Navarra in Madrid, a well-established event serving as a forum for debate on the present and future of timber construction and architecture in Spain.
The event adopted an open format focused on detailed presentations of the awarded projects by their authors. Beyond the graphic documentation published in issue 353 of AITIM magazine, the teams were able to share key aspects such as the design process, structural decisions, relationships with developers, construction timelines, and finishing details.
In this context, Batlleiroig received an honorable mention in the new-build category for the Inspire office project, a recognition that highlights the integration of timber as part of a contemporary, efficient, and sustainable architecture.
The ceremony, hosted by architect Mireya Reguart, president of ASA, announced the winners across three categories —new build, interior design, and renovation— awarding a total of three prizes and three honorable mentions. The selected projects span a wide range of locations, structural typologies, and applications, addressing everything from construction details to large-scale structural approaches, as well as issues related to biophilia and sustainability.
According to Reguart, timber has been naturally incorporated into these projects as a material capable of delivering appropriate mechanical, aesthetic, and constructive performance in each context. She also highlighted the sector’s evolution toward greater maturity, with more refined projects and a deeper understanding of the material’s possibilities.
The event concluded with an open discussion among award winners, jury members, and attendees, which continued during the subsequent cocktail reception, further exploring the role of timber in contemporary architecture.
The AMAD Awards 2025 were sponsored by AEIM, and the trophies —designed by Miguel Alberquilla and produced in collaboration with ICIFOR-INIA (CSIC)— symbolize research and innovation in this field.
This recognition reinforces Batlleiroig’s commitment to sustainable, innovative architecture connected to current environmental and social challenges.
