Gran de Sant Andreu

The project aims to give this main street a new and different configuration that is an expression of unity and homogeneity throughout the entire stretch with an innovative material such as polished mustard-colored asphalt, which allows it to adapt well to the singularities of the urban structure that crosses, that can shape singular spaces with a change of material to gray granite and generate squares where there are now crossings. The whole project aims to enhance lost biodiversity by adding a green living infrastructure and water infiltration and storage.

One of the main aspects to study within this unique platform is water runoff. The proposal proposes a new drainage system that enhances greater permeability and infiltration in the ground that has a clear relationship with the inherited trees and that helps to improve the humidity conditions of its subsoil. This solution promotes biodiversity by allowing the planting of a wide range of shrub and herbaceous species that accompany the existing trees, allowing citizens to have more direct contact with renatured spaces.
