The Principal Theatre, the oldest in the city of Barcelona, will be remodeled to reopen in 2024.

The Principal Theatre, the oldest in the city of Barcelona, will be remodeled to reopen in 2024.

The intervention will consist of creating a new immersive arts center open to the Ramblas and the Raval, where the different pieces will be able to receive various activities.

The Batlleiroig project will maintain its heritage character, and will have six rooms and a capacity of more than 2,500 people. All the rooms will communicate through an interior space that will function as an open passage and will connect the Rambla and Lancaster Street.

The three access windows to the main balcony of the 1847 façade will be recovered, and the volumes and roofs will be ordered for a better integration of the building into its surroundings.
