The press conference for the MIRALLES tribute was held April 15th 2021 at the Saló del Tinell of the Museu d’Història de Barcelona, where Joan Roig i Duran, architect, curator of the tribute and founding partner of Batlleiroig; Benedetta Tagliabue, architect and curator of the tribute, president of the Fundació Enric Miralles and director of Miralles Tagliabue EMBT; Joan Subirats Humet, Deputy Mayor for Culture, Education, Science and the Community; and Àngel Ponsa i Roca, Minister of Culture of the Generalitat; presented all the activities and commemorative exhibitions that will take place throughout this year in Barcelona.
A series of conversations around the figure of the universal Enric Miralles and his legacy in the history of contemporary architecture, that marked the beginning of the inaugural circuit of the tribute with the exhibitions ‘MIRALLES. A quarts de quatre…’, ‘MIRALLES. Photos & Collages’ and ‘MIRALLES. To be continued… ’.
Throughout this 2021, the Fundació Enric Miralles with the support of the Ajuntament de Barcelona and the Generalitat de Catalunya promotes MIRALLES, a tribute that reminds the great Catalan architect Enric Miralles in all its facets.
MIRALLES, which will take place from April 15 to December 23, 2021 in emblematic spaces of Barcelona, will address the different facets of Enric Miralles as a creator, architect, designer, photographer and teacher through different exhibitions and conferences.
MIRALLES activities are curated by Benedetta Tagliabue and Joan Roig, and organized by the Fundació Enric Miralles with the support of the Ajuntament de Barcelona, the Generalitat de Catalunya, in collaboration with l’Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura (ETSAB), the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC), the architecture studio Miralles Tagliabue EMBT and different companies and private institutions.
