The refurbishment and extension of the Joan Ortoll sports center in Calafell has been a finalist in the Functional Rehabilitation category at the Catalunya Construcció 2021 awards.
The project faces the challenge of expanding an existing building, which includes a sports center and a theater, with two new indoor courts and changing rooms in order to restore the unity of the building and return the equipment to its reference role in the municipality.
Also the candidacy presented by G3 of the Dwellings building in Paseo de Gracia 30 is finalist in Integrated Direction of Project.
This is the fifth consecutive year in which a batlleiroig project is a finalist in the awards:
In 2017, the drainage system in The Style Outlets shopping center in Viladecans received Catalunya Construcció for innovation in construction; a year later and in the same category, it was received by the Forest Path in the Roques Blanques cemetery. In 2019 we received the Catalunya Construcció for integrated project management by the Service Buildings of Inditex’s headquarters and, recently, our project for the Doctors Without Borders Headquarters was awarded the Catalunya Construcció 2020 award for functional rehabilitation.
The CAATEEB, with the support of the Consell de Col·legis d’Aparelladors, Arquitectes Tècnics i Enginyers d’Edificació de Catalunya, annually convenes the Catalunya Construcció awards with the aim of making a public recognition of the main professional functions related to the execution of works.
