Construction works of the Torre Barceló de Mataró will begin in July, redefining the city’s skyline.

Construction works on the Barceló Tower in Mataró will begin this coming July, as it was presented on June 22 at the Mataró City Council press conference.

The new building is located in the block between the Ronda de Barceló, the Maresme Avenue and the La Farinera building, and will redefine the Mataró skyline with a staggered volumetry. It will have 2,500 m² of commercial or office space located on a plinth and on the lower floors; and 16,300 m² of residential space on the upper floors, where a maximum of 192 free homes can be built for rent.

Regarding the urbanization of the new block linked to the Barceló Tower, the will is to create a space with a predominance of green, benches and rest areas, as well as spaces where terraces can be installed. The urbanization project seeks to make this area more friendly with the installation of areas with vegetation and sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) to channel rainwater away from the building so that it can later infiltrate the ground.

Enric Batlle (Founding Partner of batlleiroig) and Eirene Presmanes (Senior Project Director at batlleiroig) participated in the presentation of the project, along with the Mayor of Mataró, David Bote, and the Councilor for Urban Planning, Nuria Moreno, as well as Emma Bellosta, Asset Manager Director of Stoneweg, investors of the new Torre Barceló.
