The project we designed aimed to resolve the impact of the road infrastructure, restore the continuity of the region and create a park not only over the 850-metre long tunnel, but over the entire area expropriated for its construction, approximately 60,000 m2. Far from concealing signs of the architecture, our work sought to dignify the traces it left in the territory, with a promenade along the structure to complement the replanting operation. The footpath took the form of a 5.60-metre wide asphalt strip painted like a yellow and blue checkerboard, and a 4-metre wide strip of stamped concrete that divides to adapt to the different levels, with one horizontal and one sloping layout to avoid the transmission of point loads to the tunnel structure.
