With an area of more than 40 hectares, this park is located in a new city centre, which aims to project the city as an important service centre for the Barcelona area. The Parque de Catalunya has been one of the most significant public spaces created in this country over the last few years. The front of the “Eix Macià” provides an access point from the avenue, which is the symbol of the new city centre.
Since the beginning of our project, we consistently wished to recover the Parque de Catalunya as a natural space, both by preserving the landscape elements of woodland and meadows that already existed and by maintaining the peculiar topographical features of hills and hollows. Periodic popular tree-planting campaigns have reforested the area and contributed to its recovery by ensuring that it is considered a functional park.
