‘EL FAR’ ECHOES OF THE CATALUNYA CONSTRUCCIÓ AWARD 2018 TO THE FOREST ROAD OF THE ROQUES BLANQUES CEMETERY
The local media ‘El Far’ has published an article about the Catalunya Construcció Award 2018 for Innovation in Construction that our team picked up last week for the Forest Road of the Roques Blanques cemetery, in El Papiol. The text highlights that this installation has been positioned as “green cemetery, pioneer in Spain thanks to the different initiatives respectful with the environment”.
‘El Far’ highlights the words of the General Manager of Àltima Cemeteries, Joan Ventura, who points out that “this award is the recognition of the firm commitment of Batlle i Roig and Roques Blanques to make this cemetery a unique space where the nature is always a priority and the graves are integrated respecting the configuration of the land, without representing at at any time an impact for the environment”.
Joan Ventura also assures that the Forest Road already has 140 biodegradable urns buried since its start-up, last September, and considers that “this type of option is necessary to respond to the growing trend of incineration, which in the metropolitan area of Barcelona it already exceeds 50%”.
