Batlleiroig’s project for the Johan Cruyff Stadium for the FC Barcelona has received the ‘Silver Award’ at the International Association for Universal Design Awards, in the category of Public Space.
The jury commented on the design proposal as “a legendary club, a legendary player, and now a great and complex project based on UD criteria. This large and complex building proposal demonstrates a wonderful set of inclusive design values in its overall conception and detailing”.

The International Association for Universal Design (IAUD) conducts activities aimed at achieving its basic objective: “To contribute to the healthy development of society, and improve the welfare of humanity as a whole, through further disseminating and actualizing of Universal Design (UD).”
In that vein, the IAUD International Design Award recognizes groups and individuals who have conducted or proposed particularly noteworthy activities aimed at realizing a UD society in which everyone – regardless of age, gender, nationality, ethnicity, culture, nationality, customs, or other factors – can live comfortably, without feeling any undue inconvenience.
The project of the ‘Corporate Headquarters for Doctors Without Borders in Barcelona‘ has been awarded with the Premi Catalunya Construcció 2020 for Functional Rehabilitation, in the 17th edition of the awards organized by the Col·legi d’Aparelladors, Arquitectes Tècnics i Enginyers d’Edificació de Barcelona (CAATEEB).
The jury has valued “the difficulty of converting an obsolete industrial building into a healthy and useful space, as well as the project exercise of opening the new patio of lights and the roof, to achieve the entry of natural light, ventilation and the necessary comfort for the entity’s offices and to do it from a concept of austerity”.
It is an honor for Batlleiroig to receive this award, congratulations to the entire team that has made this great project possible.

The Cycling and Pedestrian Connection between Barcelona and Esplugues de Llobregat, project selected in the 3rd edition of the Mostra d’Arquitectura Catalana de Barcelona.
Last Thursday, July 9, at 8 pm, the presentation of the verdict of the 3rd Mostra d’Arquitectura Catalana de Barcelona and the 8th Mostra d’Arquitectura Catalana del Vallès took place. The event could be followed live, via the COAC Youtube channel:
The jury selected the work CYCLING AND PEDESTRIAN CONNECTION BETWEEN BARCELONA & ESPLUGUES DE LLOBREGAT in the category of “Landscape interventions and urban planning” and assessed that “this seemingly simple intervention, in a very complex context, manages to solve a lot of shortcomings of the territory and multiple scales”.
The COAC’s Mostres d’Arquitectura program collects the heritage of the biennials and triennials organized from its collegiate headquarters, seeking to promote and disseminate the work of architects throughout Catalonia.
