‘EL FAR’ ECHOES OF THE CATALUNYA CONSTRUCCIÓ AWARD 2018 TO THE FOREST ROAD OF THE ROQUES BLANQUES CEMETERY
The local media ‘El Far’ has published an article about the Catalunya Construcció Award 2018 for Innovation in Construction that our team picked up last week for the Forest Road of the Roques Blanques cemetery, in El Papiol. The text highlights that this installation has been positioned as “green cemetery, pioneer in Spain thanks to the different initiatives respectful with the environment”.
‘El Far’ highlights the words of the General Manager of Àltima Cemeteries, Joan Ventura, who points out that “this award is the recognition of the firm commitment of Batlle i Roig and Roques Blanques to make this cemetery a unique space where the nature is always a priority and the graves are integrated respecting the configuration of the land, without representing at at any time an impact for the environment”.
‘THE FOREST ROAD’ IN THE ROQUES BLANQUES CEMETERY WINS THE CATALUNYA CONSTRUCCIÓ AWARD 2018 FOR INNOVATION
Batlleiroig has won the Catalunya Construcció 2018 Award for Innovation in Construction for its project ‘The Forest Road’ in the cemetery of Roques Blanques, in El Papiol. The awards, granted by the Quantity Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers, were delivered yesterday at the Auditorium of the University of Barcelona during the Construction Night. It is the second consecutive year that Batlleiroig wins this award: last year, it was won by The Style Outlets Viladecans.
‘The Forest Road’ consists of a grouping of burials in the Roques Blanques cemetery that redefines the traditional model of burials and cremations, applying criteria respectful with the environment and integrating it within the Natural Park of Collserola. To make it a reality, traditional dry construction systems and elements have been used, such as wood, sand and vegetation.
