BATLLEIROIG PARTICIPATES IN THE ROUND TABLE ‘EVOLUTION AND TRANSFORMATION OF ARCHITECTURE IN A POST CRISIS SOCIETY’
Albert Gil —Batlleiroig’s senior partner— participated in a virtual round table organized by Lamp on Thursday, May 7th to discuss the evolution and transformation of architecture in a post-crisis society.
«Public health problems were what made the city rethink, because diseases afflicted both the rich and the poor». Richard Sennet in Building and Dwelling, on the beginning of modern architecture in Barcelona in 1875, to fight against the epidemics that were raging in the 19th century.
Historically, diseases have been levers of change. Given the situation we are living in, we wonder if the architectural spaces will be transformed into a Post-coronavirus scenario to respond to new requirements, ways of use and concerns of society, how it has already happened in the past after other health crises.
The virtual colloquium was attended by Albert Gil, Josep Ferrando, Joaquín Pérez-Goicoechea, Zaloa Mayor and Jose María Sánchez and brought together a large number of professionals who attended the live chat as spectators.
